Email from T'Committee post the 2013 Reunion

Dear Leyland Colleagues,
Thank you for all the feedback we received from you following the 2013 reunion. We have now had a chance to review all your comments and we can report that the general consensus is as follows:
- A 5 year gap between reunions is too long and the next event should be held within 2-3 years
- We should continue to use the informal format adopted for the 2008 and 2013 reunions
- The Commercial Vehicle Museum is a suitable, and appropriate, location for future reunions.
Based on your feedback, we have decided that the next Reunion will be held in May 2016 and the location will again be the British Commercial Vehicle Museum in Leyland.
To help with ongoing communication we will continue to use this 'leyland.reunion' email account and Jim Woodward has also kindly offered to maintain the Leyland Reunion 'Blog' which he originally set up following the 2008 event. The 'Blog' can be found at:
Jim has already uploaded some photos of the 2013 event (together with a copy of the Leyland Guardian newspaper article) and we would now be grateful if you would send us copies of your photos so that they can also be put on the Blog. The idea is that the Blog will then become a 'photo album' to remind us of the day and provide an opportunity for those who were unable to attend to share some of our memories.
We will you more information in due course but, in the meantime, please continue to help us to add colleagues to the mailing list and please also keep us informed whenever you change your own email address (e.g. new job, retirement or a change of internet provider).
Best regards,
T'Committee

28 Sep 2013 Email from T'Committee

Dear Leyland Colleagues,

A big thank you for the excellent turn out (we had around 140 attendees) and for making the reunion such an enjoyable event.

Thanks are also due to Keith Moyes and his team at the museum who were always particularly helpful and co-operative and who made us all feel extremely welcome.

We also think that Parry Davis deserves a special mention for driving all the way from Shropshire in his splendid Leyland Hippo!

We are delighted to report that, after covering the cost of hiring the museum and the cost of the name badges, we had sufficient surplus from the entry fees to be able to make a donations of £130 to St Catherine's Hospice and a further £130 to the Museum Trust fund.

We have already had a lot of positive feedback and the clear consensus is that we should not wait as long as five years before the next reunion. T'Committee will be getting together during the next couple of weeks to discuss future plans and we would therefore appreciate any comments/suggestions you may have regarding the arrangements and the timing for the next reunion.

Best regards,

T'Committee

P.S.
There was a nice report of the event in the 24 September edition of the Leyland Guardian (see attached PDF) and copies of the various photos taken by their photographer are available for purchase on the following website:

http://lancashireeveningpost.newsprints.co.uk/search/bykw/b/f/0/1           (search 'reunion' or 'leyland reunion')

There are eight photos in all and we will shortly forward emails with sample versions of these images (embedded with a 'protective' Johnson Press logo) to show you what's available.
